ACERS SPOTLIGHT

Meet Coaches Sherie and John Saathoff!

Coach Sherie and her husband John have been dedicated youth softball coaches for over 18 years, beginning their journey when they coached their oldest daughter’s T-ball team. Sherie’s passion for the sport began in childhood, starting with T-ball and continuing through recreational leagues and school ball. John, too, brings a strong foundation to the field, having played baseball throughout his youth. Together, their love for the game has grown into a true family tradition. Today, they continue to share that passion by coaching their youngest daughter’s rec softball team and their middle daughter’s middle school rec team, fostering not only skills and teamwork but also lasting memories through the sport they love.

Let's give a big WELCOME to Coach Sherie and Assistant Coach John who will be joining us in the upcoming 2025-2026 Season as coaches of our 12U team!

ACERS SPOTLIGHT

Meet Head Coach Amanda Schaefer!

Coach Amanda’s softball journey kicked off at 14 years old and hasn’t let up since. She was named 2nd Team All-League outfielder in high school and helped lead her team to a 3rd place finish at state her senior year—an unforgettable way to cap off her high school career before heading to college, where she continued to compete at a high level and earned All-League honors as an outfielder.

Amanda started coaching in 2016 with the 14U Washington Thunder, mentoring young athletes with heart and hustle. But her biggest role started in 2015—becoming a proud mom! After taking some time to focus on family, she brought her passion back to the field, joining the Tahoma High School coaching staff in 2018. She served as Varsity Assistant until 2021 and has been Head JV Coach since 2022.

She’s also in her second season coaching her daughter’s 8+ Little League team with Chinook, making softball a full-on family affair.

For Amanda, softball has always been more than a game—it’s a place for growth, connection, and confidence. She’s all about teaching fundamentals, building a strong team culture, and helping each player discover their love for the sport. She knows the mental side of softball is just as important as the physical—and coaching girls in the game brings its own unique, rewarding challenges.

Amanda is beyond excited to join the ACERS family and rock the green and orange with pride. She’s ready to bring her experience, energy, and heart to the team—and can’t wait to hit the field with this amazing group of athletes!

Let's give a big WELCOME to Head Coach Amanda who will be joining us in the upcoming 2025-2026 Season to coach our 10U Team!
